ABOUT
100 SECONDS
TO MIDNIGHT
Created for the contest, Posters for purpose hosted by the ESG strategy and communications agency, Think parallax, and the AIGA San Diego. The goal of this project was to create a poster that could bring awareness to one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) defined by the United Nations. The goal selected was #13, Climate Action, meant to combat climate change and its impacts on the planet. Since the poster was going to be produced through screen printing, the color palette was limited to two colors. To work around the limitation, one color halftone was implemented to create different color values.

SKETCHES

IT IS 100 SECONDS TILL MIDNIGHT
To support the statement of the illustration, I decided to add the statement “100 seconds till midnight” from the Doomsday Clock. The Doomsday Clock was created to bring awareness to the problems in the world that are damaging humanity and our planet, climate change being one of them. Referring to the apocalypse as midnight it gives a countdown to humanity to wake up and start making a change to reverse the clock.
